A variety of Fiji vacation resorts and hotels can be found on the large island of Vanua Levu (Fiji's second largest island). Nukubati Island Resort is one of the top all inclusive resorts in Fiji, and is located on its own island off the northern coastline of Vanua Levu. Most resorts, however, are found in and around the picturesque Savusavu Bay area and along the Hibiscus Highway that heads east along the reef-fringed coastline. There are several all-inclusive luxury resorts in and around Savusavu, but there are also smaller resorts, beachfront bures, and beachfront cottages (self-contained). In the centre of Savusavu on the hillside is the moderate Hot Springs Hotel, a Fiji hotel that has great views of Savusavu Bay.

Savusavu is accessed by daily light aircraft flights from Nadi International Airport as well as from Nausori Airport in Suva (a smaller international airport). There are also regular inter-island ferries arriving from Nadi, Suva and Lautoka. Flights and ferries also connect to Taveuni. Private charter planes, helicopters and/or float planes can be arranged by the luxury resorts in Vanua Levu.
