The Sunshine Coast in Fiji does not have a lot of resorts but this is part of the beauty of the area. Sun-filled days (the region has lower annual rainfall than other parts of Fiji), panoramic views of blue ocean, reefs and offshore islands. Combined with excellent scuba diving and a relaxed ambience only 2 hours from the international airport in Nadi, and you have the makings for some excellent Fiji vacation resorts. Wananavu Resort is an award-winning resort on the Sunshine Coast (or Sun Coast as it is sometimes called) that caters to general holidays, weddings and honeymoons, as well as diving, and families. There is also a low-key beachfront resort at Volivoli Point that caters to budget travellers and Fiji dive vacations. Getting to the Sunshine Coast is very easy - just a 2 hour journey by road direct from the International Airport at Nadi. The coastal road takes in panoramic views of the ocean and islands on the left, and green low-lying pasture land on the left with a dramatic highland backdrop that will have you going for the camera!
