Lomaiviti - or ' central Fiji ' - is in the heart of the Fiji Islands. It is a region bounded by Fiji's three largest islands, and primarily comprises the Koro Sea and the islands within it. The islands of the Lomaiviti include, amongst others, Ovalau, Koro, Gau, Nairai, Wakaya, Makogai, Batiki, Toberua (top image) and Naigani. The region includes a number of island resorts, including some Fiji luxury resorts such as the exclusive Wakaya, Fiji honeymoon destination of famous celebrities. In Lomaiviti, Fiji Dive Resorts go hand in hand with Fiji beach resorts, as these islands are blessed with fine beaches and Lomaiviti is renowned for its excellent dive sites. They are, of course, ideal if you are looking for a honeymoon vacation in Fiji or wishing to get married in the islands. Ovalau is a large island and has a number of small resorts and lodgings.

Access to the resorts in Lomaiviti varies as the islands are scattered over a wide region and getting to each of them varies. Wakaya has a small airstrip and offers private light aircraft transfers from Suva and Nadi. Ovalau is quite a large island and has an airport on its western side, with regular scheduled flights from the main island via Air Fiji. The luxury island resort of Toberua (at top) is close to the mainland. From Suva airport it is a short taxi ride to Nakelo landing, thence by launch out to the island. Koro Island can be accessed by light aircraft and it is also a stop-off point for the Suva-Savusavu inter-island ferry service. Naigani is accessed from Suva and necessitates 1.5 hours by road and a launch out to the island. Seaplanes (or float planes) may be chartered for that quick, convenient arrival to your Lomaiviti island resort!
